I've used Min-Wax medium walnut with a touch of cherry on top, looks good with a tung oil or Johnson''s Paste wax on top. The Johnson's paste wax makes a nice reasonably weatherproof finish for a duck blind gun. WebRefinishing an old birch rifle stock, just had a few questions I can't find answers to online. Suffice it to say the historical value/collector value of the rifle is basically nothing, so there is no harm in what I'm doing.
